Both models share nearly identical design and performance. The Z233M2 is air cooled and the Z233MK2 is refrigerated. Both models feature a user-friendly, microprocessor-based control panel. Run parameters are set using easy-to-turn knobs while their values are shown on digital displays. During a run, the display can be switched between preset and actual values at the touch of a button. The Z233MK2 includes a digital temperature control display (-10°C to 40°C). Speed is selectable in 10rpm increments. The quick button activates a momentary spin. Time may be set from 1 to 60 minutes or “continuous.” Time remaining to complete a run is also displayed and two deceleration and acceleration steps, “fast” and “slow,” are featured. Speed display is selectable between RCF and rpm at anytime, even during a run. Both the Z233M2 and Z233MK2 have a maximum speed of 15,000rpm (21,380 x g). The refrigerated centrifuge employs a CFC-free refrigeration system to maintain temperatures below 0°C, even during continuous operation. The maintenance-free induction drive on both units reduces operating noise to a whisper. Measured values are below 60dB, even at 15,000rpm.
